Invitation for Bids

Rwandex s.a is a company which commenced operations in 1964 and has a share capital of Frw 900,000,000.

The company’s main business is the processing and export of coffee and hides as well as general merchandising.

The Government owns 51% of the shares and the balance belongs to other private share holders. The Government of Rwanda would now like to divest from Rwandex s.a by selling its 51% share holdings.

Bids are invited under the following conditions :

  1. Confirmed availability of funds to pay the purchase price on execution of the sale agreement
  2. Bidder must be owners of the company ready to buy all the shares and not middlemen or agents
  3. Details of the company history and affiliations
  4. All bidders are required to pay a non-refundable fee of US $ 500 onto account n° 120.01.80 in Banque Nationale du Rwanda, proof of which will enable the information Memorandum to be obtained from the privatisation secretariat .

The Government of Rwanda will not be bound to accept the highest bid or the basis of price only and its decision.

The closing date for the submission of tender bids is Tuesday 18th July 2000 at 10.00hrs.

All bids should be addressed to the Privatisation Secretariat.
